SPRITE!

Look what we found! As Diane and I were driving around Tennessee enjoying a day of sightseeing, we decided to stop at a convenience store in Lawrenceburg. Upon returning to our vehicle I heard what sounded like a cat's meow. Looking around and seeing nothing, I proceeded toward our truck. Diane was already getting into the truck when I heard it again. Determined to find the source I followed the sound to a propane exchange rack. No visual evidence of a cat, but I could tell that the sound was originating from underneath. Kneeling down on one knee I peered through the small gap between the metal rack and it's cement base. There she was looking back at me. When our eyes met she meowed with great enthusiasm, simultaneously reaching out to me with her paw, very much like you see in the 1st photo below. We call her Sprite since I had just purchased a Sprite cold drink.

El Malpais National Monument - Joe Skeen Campground

Great dry camping site in western New Mexico. After World War II, the Bureau of Land Management became the administrator of the area. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan designated El Maloais a unit of the National Park Service. It is jointly managed with the nearby El Morro National Monument.

Wichita Falls - Texas

We enjoyed a brief stay at the city campground in Wichita Falls, Texas. Site #20. Electrical hookups, water, and a dump station are available for a reasonable price. We walked to Jason's Deli for dinner. The river that runs next to the park was extremely high. Check out THIS LINK FOR VIDEO Sentimental note; we pedaled through Wichita Falls back in 1985 on our cross country bicycle trip to San Diego, CA, from Tybee Island, GA. Pretty much had the park to ourselves

Principal’s Letter - November 2007 As I sit here contemplating the topic for this month’s edition of the Dodgen Dateline the first thing that comes to mind is to take inventory of the things for which I am thankful.  It is, after all, that time of year.  First, I am thankful that my list includes items such as a wonderful family, adequate food and shelter, and employment at the best middle school in the United States.  Of course I could go on for many more pages.  I am blessed indeed.  How about instead, I share some things from my list that I am sure you would not have guessed?  The baseball that has scrawled on it the words “I love you very much,” comes to mind.  The words were writ...
