4 Wheeling It!

We like to camp in the less traveled areas (National Forests, Bureau of Land Management, etc.) when possible. A part of our sight seeing in any given area is to scout out potential campsites that I have researched online. I had high hopes for this one called Rampart Road, but there were areas of the road that were four wheel and high clearance vehicles only. Our low clearance Airstream is a definite no!
Photo does not do justice to road condition!

El Malpais National Monument - Joe Skeen Campground

Great dry camping site in western New Mexico. After World War II, the Bureau of Land Management became the administrator of the area. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan designated El Maloais a unit of the National Park Service. It is jointly managed with the nearby El Morro National Monument.

Wichita Falls - Texas

We enjoyed a brief stay at the city campground in Wichita Falls, Texas. Site #20. Electrical hookups, water, and a dump station are available for a reasonable price. We walked to Jason's Deli for dinner. The river that runs next to the park was extremely high. Check out THIS LINK FOR VIDEO Sentimental note; we pedaled through Wichita Falls back in 1985 on our cross country bicycle trip to San Diego, CA, from Tybee Island, GA. Pretty much had the park to ourselves
