Jessica Graduates Via Zoom Presentation

Jessica graduates from Stanford Medical School . The graduation "ceremony" had to be virtual via Zoom technology due to precautions related to the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus. Diane and I had planned to attend the graduation in California, and had even left on our journey in March. We had to turn around in Michigan because everything was shutting down due to the virus. I used my phone to record the TV screen. Mom and dad were able to view the ceremony with us as from home base in Loganville.

Bluebirds

Using my iPhone attached to a spotter scope lens, I was able to snap dozens of photos of a couple of bluebirds in the front yard at Loganville, GA. I decided to focus the lens on an area where I had seen them previously, and like magic they appeared.

Upper Falls - Tahquamenon Falls State Park, MI

In this cold March Michigan weather, we pretty much have the park to ourselves. We hiked to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls this morning. Check out this VIDEO LINK . I have also posted a VIDEO showing our secluded and snow covered campsite.

Whitefish Point

Whitefish Point is about 20 miles from Tahquamenon Falls. There is a lighthouse that looks out over Lake Superior. Canada is visible in the distance. Plenty of snow and ice on the beach.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park - Michigan

Drove about 170 miles (see odometer photo) and arrived to Tahquamenon Falls State Park at about noon today. The highways were in great condition and free of ice until we actually reached the park. Roads within the park were thick with ice. Had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive to keep from slipping.

We Made It To Michigan

Drove over 700 miles (see 1st odometer photo) on Saturday from Georgia to Dundee, Michigan. Spent the night in a Cabella's lot for RVs, then spent a lot of money the next morning in the store. Walked to the Great Lakes Eatery and Pub for lunch before driving a little over 200 miles (2nd odometer photo) to Grayling, MI for a few hours of rest.

Upper Peninsula

Made reservations to camp at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for 2 weeks beginning March 16. We plan to travel west from Michigan, staying as close to the U.S. / Canadian border as weather will allow. If possible, we will cross the border a time or two along the way. Of course, It all depends on the weather.
