Changes Ahead for Thread Sketched

Changes are in store for Thread Sketched, now that we are living full time in our Airstream. Downsizing being the obvious difference, organization of space in the Airstream, and the truck, is critical. We will continue to participate as vendors at quilt and fiber art shows, but we will have to find ways to carry everything we need for each show, within the Airstream, or the Beast (our truck), and still have room for Diane, me, and our three cats to live in peace and harmony.

Our "home base" when not on the road will be in Loganville, GA, at my parent's house. They were kind enough to let us create a pad in their back yard for our Airstream, where we can stay with full hook ups when we visit. Thanks Mom and Dad! We will try not to over stay our welcome!

We will begin our next journey in a week or two. Headed North, and West. Check our blog every few weeks to follow along on our journey!

El Malpais National Monument - Joe Skeen Campground

Great dry camping site in western New Mexico. After World War II, the Bureau of Land Management became the administrator of the area. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan designated El Maloais a unit of the National Park Service. It is jointly managed with the nearby El Morro National Monument.

Wichita Falls - Texas

We enjoyed a brief stay at the city campground in Wichita Falls, Texas. Site #20. Electrical hookups, water, and a dump station are available for a reasonable price. We walked to Jason's Deli for dinner. The river that runs next to the park was extremely high. Check out THIS LINK FOR VIDEO Sentimental note; we pedaled through Wichita Falls back in 1985 on our cross country bicycle trip to San Diego, CA, from Tybee Island, GA. Pretty much had the park to ourselves

Upper Peninsula

Made reservations to camp at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for 2 weeks beginning March 16. We plan to travel west from Michigan, staying as close to the U.S. / Canadian border as weather will allow. If possible, we will cross the border a time or two along the way. Of course, It all depends on the weather.
